The Native American Advertising & Marketing Institute is an intensive 13-week program designed to train Native Americans in the basic principles of advertising. Developed by TLG Gaming specifically for our clients, the Institute is located in El Paso, Texas and accepts two interns per 13-week course. A salary stipend and housing are provided by TLG Gaming and are supplemented by a modest course fee paid for by the applicant, Tribal Enterprise or casino. Scholarships to cover the cost of the program fee are also available. Specific curricula have been developed for each discipline and are followed by TLG Gaming employees who oversee the hands-on learning experience of the participants. The Institute offers internships for Tribal-owned casino employees in the following disciplines:
Account planningThe first week of the 13-week program is devoted to an overview of the advertising process. Interns are given the opportunity to observe the functions of each department in order to understand the interdependency of each discipline on the others. During the following 12-weeks, the interns are immersed in learning their chosen area of expertise. They will learn software programs, hardware options, research techniques and the implementation of these elements to produce a final product. At the end of the program, interns will have acquired a basic knowledge of their discipline and will be able to apply these fundamentals when they return to their jobs. The ultimate goal of The Native American Advertising & Marketing Institute is to help Tribal-owned casinos develop their own in-house advertising departments staffed with well-trained Tribal members.
